How About A V8 To Lose Weight

V8 - 1

OK before I begin with this post, I want to let you know that this is not another shameless plug or pitch.

This is actually my my own personal prescription to fat loss. Since my last post about H20 I have been thinking about more logical choices of foods and beverages.

Well let me tell you what happened when temptation showed her face and challenged me Last night at a weak moment of shame.

I was working late and was very thirsty and also kind of hungry and weak ready to do wrong.

I made my way over to the vending machine looking at this thing like I was a Crack Head and it was my pusher!

(I am so ashamed!)

V8 - 2

I was thinking out loud in my wrecked and weak will power at this moment of being desperate.

Looking at this machine with disgust for being such a dirty little tease showing me her goods without any conscious of what she was trying to do to me and my Meltdown Plan Of Action to lose weight.

As I looked for healthy choices and selections I was grossly limited by the slim picks of what was available.

I needed a healthy guilt free option and time was running out as I could hear my belly asking me “Hey Meltdown Feed Me Seymour!”

So it was now or never and I had to make a choice and pick something but make it the right choice. What was I to do?

I am only just a man in need of a fix!

I decided to go with the V8 knowing that it was 100% vegetable juice and was a more sensible choice.

After paying with what coins I had available in my pocket and the machine almost spiting my beverage out at me like I hurt it’s evil little feelings.

I took a quick look at the snack machine and just turned away and walked!

After all that stuff I just went through I needed to just get out of the danger zone. KNOW WHAT I MEAN?

So I guess I am kind of proud of myself for having the will power to just say no and do the right thing.

So at least you can’t say hey Mr. Meltdown you should have had a V8 because I already had did! LOL

Adversity is synonymous with any weight loss journey. If you prepare yourself mentally for those moments you’ll be just fine. I’m going on a weekend cruise get away with the Mrs. in a few weeks. I already know what I’ll be up against. But I also know that there’s a gym on board as well. The key is to keep it sensible.

  2. Yobigmike says:

Everyday is a hurdle. Trust me, I feeling it also, but don’t you feel good when you make the right choices? Keep it up!!

  3. Inni says:

I can feel your need for “good” things to drink, but I prefer my soup hot with chunks!

  4. Every day will have struggles and chances to overcome them. You won’t always do well or make the right choices but as long as you continue more or less along the healthy path things will get better.

I only drink water these days, besides milk and an occasional alcoholic drink, so I can’t relate with the drink stuff. But good job choosing something healthy for you!!

    @Inni

LOL.. I think I am at the stage where I am thinking about health more than taste right now. But that v8 was not half bad at all.

  6. Dr. Kal says:

Great job with the snack collection. When I’m hungry is when I typically cheat the most.

I would suggest that you carry snacks with you. Its cheaper and you have more control.

Nuts are perfect for that. Just watch your serving size.

  7. mrmeltdown says:

@ Dr. Kal – Yes for sure.. I take 10 almonds with me and fruit and a sandwich with low sodium every day. I also eat carrots for my snacks with ranch dressing, low fat also for dipping.

  8. Nothing wrong with V8 except maybe the sodium content, although I know some people think it is debatable whether that matters or not. I prefer Spicy Hot V8 myself – give that one a try!

  9. mrmeltdown says:

@John’s Weight – Hey John thanks for that advice. I do try to keep it down with my sodium content so I will have to search and see if they have a lower sodium V8. Now as far as the Spicy one I am all in for that!! LOL

  10. Randi says:

Congrats on resisting temptation and on drinking V8. I have tried numerous times and blech I cannot drink the stuff.

Dang Randi! Why don’t you be honest about it.. LOL ;p

The taste is not that bad really..
