
Why is it easier for me to lose the bad food than I expected? Well let me be honest with you about one thing from the start. I love protein and that is the one thing that I can’t do without I promise you!
So I was thinking about this from the start of my diet. I was concerned about the fact that I can’t give up meat and all of its goodness when it comes to taste and texture in every bite I chew.
Since I needed a way out from all the extra fat and fried foods I decided to modify a few things and cook instead of eating takeout.
First of all I had to do away with the heavy oils used for frying and push the flour to the back of the cabinet.
Next thing I needed to do was to chill out with the white rice and buy some brown rice. I know people always say “brown rice takes too long to cook I don’t have time like that!” Now one of the first things I will say is even if you have a busy schedule you can still make time to cook brown rice.
How you may ask? Well the first thing you will want to do is go to the store and buy some of that 10 minute boil in a bag stuff and in case you have not got the news they now make it in brown rice!!
I am at a point now that I like the brown rice more than white rice for the health value and taste. I cook my fish in olive oil and pan sear it seasoned to my taste with fresh squeezed lemon juice over it. I hook up my vegetables with some onions and garlic and pepper because you know I like it spicy! I wash it down with some iced tea made with lemon and splenda and there you have it.
So you see I am not missing a thing and eating like a king and leave the table with a full stomach and satisfied belly. IF you were to ask me about cooking while on your diet I would say just make it taste good and you will not care about that old way of eating.
To me eating has to be an experience like your first kiss because even though you had your first bite of that beautiful dish you want to go back and do it again! LOL
That is why I do mine well enough to have my food and eat it too.
