RAW BANANA BREAD
OK Folks!
If you know Mr. Meltdown then you know I love Banana Bread! Now since I am trying to go raw and stick it out I was searching for a raw banana bread recipe. Mission accomplished with great results. I had a friend of mine send me this cool recipe and wanted to share it with you that you might like. Let me know what you think?
Raw Banana Bread
¼ cup raw oat groats, ground into a powder/flour
¾ cup raw almonds, ground into a powder/flour
1 tbsp raw whole golden flax seeds, ground into a meal
3 tbsp water
1 ripe banana, mashed up really well
Optional: a little natural vanilla, a dash of cinnamon, 1 tbsp agave, honey, or a little stevia
Combine oats, almonds, and any spices in a bowl.
Whisk together flax seed and water (as if it were an egg, put your muscle into it)
Add to flour mixture.
Add banana and mix well.
Shape into a square about ½ inch thick or desired size. Dehydrate at 105 degrees for about 4 hours and flip. Dehydrate for another 6 hours or until desired consistency.

These look great – I just want to add, that in order to lose weight, the body does need to have healthy fats. Like raw oils that you can find in coconut oil, olive oil, raw nuts, avocados, etc. In fact, if you don’t have enough of these, you can not only have trouble losing weight, but you wind up with more cravings for unhealthy foods (which contain unhealthy fats).
I’ve had days when I was constantly craving fatty foods and finally just took a spoonful of raw olive oil – and that handled it. I ignore the calories when it comes to raw and healthy fats – they are so important!
The more nutrition you get, the more balanced your diet becomes, and the less you need to control cravings. After a while, with good nutrition, you can reach the point where you almost forget about food and just eat when you need to.
